Frequently Asked Questions
Why Are You Called “Blue Sock” Divorce?
I received a package in the mail at the worst point in my volatile divorce. Inside was a pair of blue socks with a note from my long time dear friend. The note said, “Wear these socks whenever you need to be reminded of who you are. I have a matching pair and will be wearing them in solidarity when you go to court. When you wear them. let it be a reminder of your strength and integrity. You are seen and loved..” That pair of socks became my reminder to hold onto myself. To stay grounded, with my feet firmly on the ground, no matter how stormy things became. I have multiple pairs now and those socks and the symbolism they convey were the motivation and foundation for Blue Sock Divorce. All Blue Sock attendees are encouraged to grab their own pair. I wear them regularly, in solidarity, with all those going through a volatile divorce.
